Another episode of the BEC Podcast is on air.

In this week’s episode of the BEC Podcast Rasmus Bech is talking with Amalie Magelund and Freja Ravn. In the podcast they touch on topics such as their current situation, future goals and balancing school and badminton.

Amalie Magelund and Freja Ravn are a young Danish women’s doubles with a lot of potential. The first time we saw the two ladies on the big scene was at the World Championships in Basel. Here they managed to get a first round win against Ng Tsz Yau and Yuen Sin Ying from Hong Kong and had a very close loss to the sixth seeds Lee So Hee and Shin Seung Chan from Korea in the second round.

- It was a huge experience. I don’t think we expected to do so well at the World Championships. We had a good practice period, so it was nice to play that good against top opponents, Ravn said.

From junior to senior

Ravn and Magelund did very good in the juniors and won a lot of tournaments and matches. Stepping into the seniors is a bit different for the two ladies.

- It is a huge step. In the juniors we won a lot of tournaments and matches, and to step into the seniors, where you do not win as many tournaments and matches is a huge difference, Magelund said.

Even though there is a big difference between the juniors and seniors, the two Danes have been doing very well. This season they already have three tournament wins as well as some good matches against top players.

- I think we have proven that we have the potential and can compete against top players, Ravn stated.
