The seeding is based on the world ranking as of 19 November 2019. Here are the seeds:

How the draw works
Each group will have a seeded team. The seeded teams are placed in the groups by ranking order. Then the remaining entered countries will be drawn one by one, with the group they are placed into drawn thereafter.

The women’s team event will be drawn first and will have seven groups in total, six groups with four teams and one group with five teams. The winner of each group and the best overall runner up will advance to the quarterfinals.

Spain, as seventh seed, will be placed in group seven, the group of five teams.

Following this, the men’s teams will be drawn. There will be eight groups in total, six groups with four teams and two groups with five teams. The winner of each group will advance to the quarterfinals.

Finland and Spain will go into group seven and eight respectively, two groups of five teams.
