Swedish women’s doubles pair Emma Karlsson and Johanna Magnusson faced fellow Scandinavian pair from Denmark, Christine Busch and Amalie Schulz. A pair that they know well, having played twice before today in 2019.

In both previous encounters the Swedes took the win in straight games. It was very much the same today, with a comfortable 21-13, 21-16 victory. Speaking about their feelings after the match, Karlsson said.

-I think we played very solidly. We did what we should do and kept our opponents moving. Overall, I think we did very well.

We asked the pair what they think made the difference on court today.

-I think it was the speed. Every time we play with this speed we play well. Magnusson stated.

We are of course halfway through the Olympic qualification, so we asked the pair how they were approaching this period.

-We are using this time to develop and entering these tournaments to get good matches. We still have far to go because we are still young. We are not pushing too hard for Olympics, but of course if we are there then it would be a dream come true, said Karlsson.
