The European Champions lost in the quarterfinals of French Open.

Thursday Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva beat the defending Olympic champions, Misaki Matsutomo and Ayaka Takahashi, Japan, in the second round of French Open. The match lasted for more than 100 minutes and took place late Thursday evening.

Friday afternoon the Bulgarians were back on court, but this time there was no celebration.

Straight game loss
The 2018 European champions lost in straight games, 21-11 21-6, to Lee So Hee/Shin Seung Chan from Korea.

- We were very tired after the match yesterday. I do not think that we fight enough today, and we just gave up too easy and stopped playing. We need to fight more, Gabriela Stoeva said.

- We were mentally tired. It was a long match yesterday – almost two hours – and we went to sleep at 1.00am, so we did not get enough rest, Stefani Stoeva added.

Last year the Stoeva sisters reached the final of French Open.
