Emilie Lefel is not sure that she will return to Stade Pierre de Coubertin as a player.

The 2018 European Championships runner-up, Anne Tran and Emilie Lefel, lost in straight games to the world number one and defending world champions, Mayu Matsumoto/Wakana Nagahara, Japan.

- I think we did not do bad in the first game. We were outsiders, and we tried to do our best. We tried but the second game was difficult. We made more mistakes and that is not good when you play against players like them, Emilie Lefel said.

Last French Open
Emilie – every match is a match closer to retirement for you. Was this the last time we saw you at French Open as a player?

- I think so. It was a good day. I do not like to lose, but it was a good experience today.

- I like to play in front of the French supports. It was amazing, Lefel stated.

A lesson
Anne Tran, 23, is not even close to retirement, and she learnt a few things on court against the world number one.

 - They adapt very fast and that was their strength today. We learnt that the top level is still one step ahead, but it is not that far, Anne Tran said.
