She was awarded BEC Young Player of the Year in April. Now she is also winner of Belgian International.

Line Christophersen has over and over been proving that she currently is one of the biggest women’s singles talents in Europe. On Saturday she won her first International Challenge.

The 19-year-old Dane won in three games against the top seed, Neslihan Yigit from Turkey. Christophersen won 23-21 12-21 21-11.

- I was a really good day for me, so I am really happy, Christophersen said.

A big win
The Belgian International victory is the second senior title for Christophersen after winning Dutch International 2019.

- This victory is really high up on the list for me. I really hoped that I could win it this year, so I am very happy. It is really nice to be me at the moment. I just play and have fun, she mentioned.

The young Dane is not in the race for Tokyo 2020 – she is focused on the longer perspective:

- The Olympics are my goal. I hope I can play in Paris in 2024.
