Lianne Tan bowed out of the Belgian International.

On Thursday morning all Belgian eyes were on local Lianne Tan. The women’s singles player met Mariya Mitsova from Bulgaria, who is ranked 26 spots below Tan on the latest World ranking.

The last time they met, at Poland Int. 2017, Tan lost, and so she did today: Tan and lost in straight games 21-19 21-16.

- I did not play my best game, but I think Mariya played very well. She put me under a lot of pressure, and I did not find the good feeling today, Lianne Tan said.

No great results
Lianne Tan does not think that it was the mental pressure from playing on home soil that made a difference on court.

- I know that this is my home tournament, but I have never had great results here. I have been playing quite well, but I never made good results, Tan stated.

- It is of course nice to play here, and of course you want to do good, but I do not know why I never did well here.
