The 5/8 seeds won against Italy in the second round of the group stage.

Serbia is hoping to win their first ever European U17 Team Championships medal. On the opening day of the team event, the Serbian team won 4-1 against Finland and they did the same on the second day.

Winning the men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles and the mixed doubles, Serbia beat Italy 4-1. All wins were in straight games.

Double up for Lukic, Loncar and Tomic
Sara Loncar won the women’s singles and the mixed doubles alongside Mihajlo Tomic. Tomic also won the men’s doubles with his partner Sergej Lukic, who won the men’s singles.

- Today’s match was better than yesterday. Yesterday we made a lot of mistakes and we missed a lot of easy shots, but today it was better. We managed to play a little faster, and I am sure we will do better in the next matches, Tomic said.

The Serbian team is expected to reach the quarterfinals, but they aim higher.

- Of course we want a medal and we hope to go to the final, Sergej Lukic said.
