Runner-up in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Is 2019 the year where Pusarla V. Sindhu finally wins that golden medal?

Indian super star Pusarla V. Sindhu knows how it feels to lose a major final. Saturday the silver medallist from the Rio Olympics, the Glasgow World Championships and the Nanjing World Championships gave herself another chance to win that gold medal, she does not have.

The 24-year-old dominated against Chen Yufei from China, who beat Danish Mia Blichfeldt in the quarterfinals. Sindhu won in straight games 21-7 21-14.

- I am happy with my performance. I was well prepared and from the start I kept the lead and kept on moving, and I think that really helped me, Sindhu said.

Want to change colour on medal
In the final on Sunday Pusarla V. Sindhu will be playing either the 2013 world champion, Ratchanok Intanon, or the 2017 world champion, Nozomi Okuhara.

- It means a lot to me to be in the final, but of course I would like to change the colour of the medal. For me this is not over yet, Sindhu stated.

- Anybody (Ratchanok Intanon or Nozomi Okuhara) is fine (to play) for me. I have been playing against them both many times, so I just hope they will have a good match.
