While Anders Antonsen made it to the quarterfinals, Jan O Jorgensen is out of the Worlds.

Thursday night was first down and then up for the Danish men’s singles profiles.

Jan O Jorgensen, who is still fighting his way back to the absolute top of the men’s singles category after a year-long injury, lost to the Indonesian talent, Jonatan Christie, 21-12 21-16.

- It was really good attacking shots from him. It was tough to cope with all the deceptions from the baseline. I was under constant pressure, and it was tough to keep up, Jorgensen said.

- I think I managed to stay in there and put up a good battle especially in the second game where I had a good lead but I could not capitalise. I felt like he was pulling a lot of shots at me. It was a tough game.

Antonsen vs. Chen Long
Despite throwing a 12 points lead away in the first game, Anders Antonsen secured a spot in the quarterfinals after beating Japanese Kanta Tsuneyama 23-21 21-18.

- I have mixed feelings after today’s match. I started out very well and should have closed that first game 10-15 minutes before I did. A win is a win. And now it is time to focus on the next match, Antonsen said.

- Chen Long is a tough player, and he is a guy I have struggled to win against. He is a future legend and a big name and of course a guy I would like to beat.
