Chris and Gabby Adcock bowed out of the World Championships.

The back-to-back European champions, who were seeded 11 going into the World Championships in Basel, came out short against the former All England winners, Yuta Watanabe/Arisa Higashino from Japan.

The Japanese took a comfortable win in straight games, 21-13 21-11.

- We definitely did not put up a very good fight out there, so that is very disappointing. That is all that comes to mind right now, Gabby Adcock said.

Japanese simply just better
The Japanese had the control throughout the match, and Chris Adcock admits that the world number three was just the better pair.

- They were better at most things to be fair, Chris Adcock explained.

- The World Championships has been disappointing, but we will go and reflect and see what we did not do well this time and learn for the next tournament, Gabby Adcock added.
