Primorye Vladivostok is through to this year’s final of the European Club Championships after beating Frogner Il from Norway, 3-0.

The Russian club did not need Men’s Doubles or Mixed Doubles after they got the job done in the first three categories.

The experience was the winner

Evgeniia Kosestkaya got Vladivostok off to a great start after winning comfortably in straight games against Emilie Hamang.

Then it was down to Vladimir Malkov who has played in every stage this year so far, and he went about his business, as usual, getting the job done in a professional manner.

Following that it was the decider of the tie, which Ekaterina Bolotova and Alina Davletova won also in straight games against Marie Christensen and Emilie Hamang, despite a good second game from Frogner Il.

A chance for Gold again

Vladimir Malkov says that now is the time to think of the title and that his team can retain the gold medals which they won in last year’s competition.

Vladivostok is going to play either BC Chambly Oise or Recreativo les La Orden who start at 19:00 (CET).

- Yes, now is the time to think of the gold medals. We should prove that we are the strongest team here now, Malkov said.

- Not just by the expectations but we need to make sure that it becomes a reality now, he added.
