Primorye Vladivostok first semi-finalists

Primorye Vladivostok is through to the semi-finals of the European Club Championships after winning in three straight categories to advance.

The club did not need all categories to beat Papa’s Court from Ukraine, the tie was won from Women’s Singles, Men’s Singles and Women’s Doubles.

The tie began with Primorye Vladivostok winning the first match as Evgeniya Kosetskaya beat Maria Ultina in straight games to get her team off to a good start, despite a late effort from Ulitina in the second. (21-15, 21-19)

Then it was down to Vladimir Malkov who has enjoyed playing at the tournament this year and he showed that by beating Danylo Bosniuk in straight games, (13 and 11)

With Vladivostok on their way to winning the tie, it was down to Ekaterina Bolotova and Alina Davletova in the Women’s Doubles to win the tie, which they did in straight games (21-13, 21-10).

Malkov is satisfied

Following the quarterfinals which saw Vladivostok advance, Vladimir Malkov revealed how satisfied with his individual performance.

The Russian Men’s Singles player continued to speak about how focused he was for the whole match and how he wanted to get the better of his opponent.

- Everything went ok today. I think that I did everything well today and it was good practice for me. It was not an easy match actually, but I kept my focus, speed and quality, Malkov said.

- Each point, I tried to keep my focus, even in the first I lost one point and gained seven points after it so it is about trying my best today, and not to give a chance for my opponent.

- I will now prepare for my match in the evening session, he continued.
