In five days, Europe’s best badminton players will be competing in Minsk. With the top seed, Viktor Axelsen, being forced to withdraw from the European Games, other players aim to advance in the tournament now.
Alexander Roovers has been drawn into the first group at the European Games 2019. Competing in the Men’s Singles, he should have been facing the number one seed, Viktor Axelsen, in the group stage.
With Axelsen not being able to compete in Minsk, Roovers has now the chance to advance in the biggest multi-sports event in Europe. His group consists of only three players now, with the first two spots to reach the knock-out stage.
