The action on court continues this week in Sydney, Australia where the CROWN GROUP Australian Open 2019 will take place from 4th to 9th of June.

In this BWF Super 300 tournament Europe will be represented by the formidable English pair Chris and Gabrielle Adcock, who are ranked as number ten in the BWF World Ranking.

The Adcocks are the only hope for Europe

The husband and wife pair Chris and Gabrielle Adcock from England are the only European players who will participate in the Australian Open 2019 and will fiercely defend their goal in the category of the Mixed Doubles.

After an impressive display in China for the Sudirman Cup in May where the experienced pair fought for their team, it is time to show their best in Australia.

Chris and Gabrielle Adcock will be without doubt in excellent physically condition after spending a week of hard training in Malaysia.

The Australian Open is the last tournament for the Adcocks before the European Games in Minsk, Belarus, where they are the favorites.

With this confidence boost in their bags, the Adcocks arrived in Sydney and relaxed taking a leisurely stroll around the city.

-Saturday sightseeing in Sydney, Gabrielle Adcock stated stress-free onInstagram.

A battle against the Chinese

Seeded as number seven in the Mixed Doubles, the skilled English pair will face in the first round Lu Kai and Chen Lu from China, ranked as number 16, in a very crucial duel for Europe.

In hopes of beating the Chinese for the second time as they did back in September in the  DAIHATSU YONEX Japan Open, the Adcocks will do their best.

If they managed to conquer the field and move forward, they will have to fight against other top pairs including the number one seeds Wang Yilyu and Huang Dongping from China and the Japanese pair Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino, seeded as number two.

With all the eyes in Sydney, Europe will wait for the Australian Open to start and enjoy the Adcocks fighting.
