I have learnt so much

During the past year, Aidan Jones from England, has been employed as a Communications Intern at Badminton Europe.

- When I first arrived, I felt very welcome by other employees at the office. I have learnt so much during my last year as an intern and have visited places that I would never normally do in daily life, the 21-year-old said.

Despite learning the skills at his university, Jones had the chance to put them into practice, such as conducting video interviews at the top tournaments.

- I have enjoyed mixing in with the other departments and doing work not just for tournaments, but also for Para-Badminton and the Centre of Excellence, he said.

Why become an intern of Badminton Europe?

- It is important for us to help young people to fulfill their dream, Rasmus Bech, Communications Manager of Badminton Europe, said.

- We know that a lot of young students are looking for internships and we are happy to give a student an opportunity to develop her or his skill-set within our organisation, if the student is qualified, he continued.

As the new Communications Intern, you will not be sitting on your hands. You will learn how to work in a dynamic organisation with the best athletes within the sport of badminton.

- We are the biggest European badminton platform and we think the badminton fans deserve the best, Bech said.

One year of developing - at Badminton Europe

For ten years, Bech has worked as a commentator, presenter and editor, and believes that an internship is a big step which prepares a student to be a professional in the area of work.

- I have seen how the interns develop. They start as a student and finish being a journalist. You cannot read everything in books – you need to try the real thing to get the best possible education. That is where Badminton Europe enters the stage, he said.

- I promise the new intern of the organisation, that he or she will learn a lot. It will be a busy but fun year, and it will be the best possible way to prepare for life as a graduated journalist.
