Misha Zilberman (Israel) has reached position no. 49 on the BWF men’s singles world ranking list this week.

-It feels great to be in the top 50 again. It has been lots of ups and downs and now I am really happy to be there, he tells Badminton Europe.

However, the former world no. 40 has higher expectations of himself, hoping that he will continue performing well in the upcoming tournaments. With the start of the Olympic qualification period, Zilberman is aiming to show his best and make a new personal record on the world ranking list.

-It’s a good feeling but still I believe that I can reach higher and hopefully I will continue playing and showing good results. I really want to reach even higher than this.

The third Olympic Games for Zilberman

Zilberman has qualified for the 2019 European Games, but before the games kicking off at the end of June, he will play in some more tournaments. At the same time, he will try to gain some points for the Olympic Games.

- It will be amazing to qualify for the Olympics because I will play three Olympics in a row. My main focus now is to get ready and show good results in the European Games  because it’s also very important this year as we are getting points. Anything can happen, but I am aiming to perform my best there.

- I will stay focused on my tournaments to show my best and try to win some tournaments.Starting from 2014 I have won at least one tournament every year. This year I haven’t won any yet as I was mostly playing World Tour. Now I will try some Challenge tournaments and try to win medals there, Zilberman tells Badminton Europe.
