After Anders Antonsen has advanced to the round of 16 at the CELCOM AXIATA Malaysia Open 2019 in Kuala Lumpur, he will now be facing Shi Yuqi in the Super 750 tournament.

Anders Antonsen from Denmark and Shi Yuqi from China have some things in common. Both Men’s Singles player have won their first match of the CELCOM AXIATA Malaysia Open 2019 after three games and exactly one hour and five minutes.

Antonsen was able to beat Huang Yuxiang from China (21-17, 16-21, 21-13), whereas on another court, a success for China was getting underway with Shi Yuqi winning close against Sameer Verma from India (22-20, 21-23, 21-12).

Revenge for Antonsen?

Now, Anders Antonsen and Shi Yuqi will be playing against each other in the second round in the Men’s Singles of the CELCOM AXIATA Malaysia Open 2019 on Thursday.

The match will be an interesting one with Antonsen being given the opportunity of seeking revenge after Shi Yuqi has been beating him in the first round of the YONEX All England Open.

If Antonsen’s revenge will be successful, he might be fighting for a spot in the semi-finals against his Danish compatriot, Rasmus Gemke, if he also wins his match in the round of 16.
