Last week’s Orleans Masters quarterfinalist Nhat Nguyen (Ireland) has moved 11 spots up on the men’s singles BWF world ranking list. This week, he has jumped 11 spots up to occupy position no. 92. He shared his thoughts with Badminton Europe:
-I was quite happy to string a few good wins in a tournament like Orleans that would help my ranking a lot. Overall I am happy with my performance so hopefully I can keep this up for Polish Open, Denmark Challenge and Sudirman Cup for the upcoming weeks.
The final list of the qualifiers of the European Games has been released, where Nguyen is the one qualifying from Ireland in the men’s singles.
Other changes
Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus (Denmark), Brice Leverdez (France) and Mark Caljouw (Netherlands) have moved one spot up on the men’s singles world ranking list, standing on positions no. 25, no. 27 and no. 28 respectively.
Last week’s Orleans Masters semifinalist Thomas Rouxel (France) has jumped 12 places up to occupy position no. 47. Luis Enrique Penalver (Spain) and Eetu Heino (Finland) have moved three spots up to occupy position no. 74 and no. 80 respectively.
In the women’s singles Kirsty Gilmour (Scotland) and Chloe Birch (England) have moved to positions no. 27 and no. 43 respectively. Turkey’s Neslihan Yigit has moved three spots up, standing on position no. 50.
