The YONEX Sunrise India Open, got off to a great start for the Danish Men’s Doubles today, with Anders Skaarup Rasmussen/Kim Astrup progressing to the round of 32 after a win in straight games.
The tournament only has six pairs from Europe in the tournament which has now been reduced after they knocked out their Russian opponents Denis Grachev/Pavel Kotsarenko.
Comfortable win
The Danes managed to take the match in straight games against their fellow European opponents winning each game, 21-14.
The first game was a lot about finding their feet, after going behind early on when they were losing 6-2.
The second game was back to routine for the pair who won the China Open last year, not going behind once in the game.
Happy Danes
The pair have been active on social media after the match, showing how they feel after reaching the next round.
Anders Skaarup Rasmussen said, “Namaste, first round win #indiaopen.”
While his men’s doubles partner has posted a picture of them both, on court and captioned it, “Moving on to the 2nd round here at India open 2019.”
