The third day of the Orleans Masters started out well for the French players. Two mixed doubles pairs have proceeded to quarter finals! And how: They beat two of the favorite English pairs!

Ronan Labar & Anne Tran are a new pair on the international circuit. Orleans Master is only their second tournament together. However, they are already playing together in the French league. And that is going very well.

Even more interesting: Labar & Tran already faced Marcus Ellis & Lauren Smith in the French league. That already lead to a victory for the French pair.

- That victory gave us the confidence we needed: Not only did we knew that we could beat them, but they also knew that they were not safe from a second defeat, Labar stated to Badzine France.

Believe in France

Labar turned out to be right as they beat Ellis & Smith with straight 21-18. In the quarter finals they face another English pair: Tom Wolfenden & Jenny Moore.

- We hope to continue our good paste against the English, but we will not take it lightly. They reached the semi-finals of the Scottish Open last year and beat some solid pairs on their way, Labar continued

- We just have to believe that playing in France will be successful for us.

Good day for Delrue

Other French mixed doubles pair Thom Chiquel & Delphine Delrue might not be a new pair but are a young pair who keep on rising and rising. They put another solid pair on their sleeve as Ben Lane & Jessica Pugh were not safe from their game.

Delphine Delrue also reached the quarter finals in women’s doubles with Lea Palermo. In an exciting match that lasted an hour, they beat Chinese pair Fanghui Chen & Xiaobei Hua.

- Into the quarter finals, but we want more! So, see you at 16:45 and at the last match of the day to obtain a spot in the semi-finals!! Delrue wrote on here facebook page!
