Stefani and Gabriela Stoeva have reached the semi-finals of the YONEX Swiss Open 2019, after beating Johanna Goliszewski and Lara Käpplein from Germany in straight games.

The quarterfinal match between the Stoeva sisters and Johanna Goliszweski and Lara Käpplein lasted 32 minutes, before the Bulgarian pair approached the next round of the tournament in Basel, the semi-finals that will get underway tomorrow.

The sisters from Bulgaria won after two straight games against their German opponents on Friday (21-14, 21-10).

“It was a pretty good performance from us. We tried to focus on every point and to not give away too easy points, I think that’s why we won today”, Gabriela Stoeva said after the match.

Tomorrow, the pair will face Chang Ye Na/Jung Kyung Eun from South Korea in the semi-finals of the BWF World Tour 300 tournament.

At the Malaysia Open at the beginning of the year, they already played against each other. The result: A straight win for the Asians (21-12, 21-6). Now, Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva have the chance to seek for revenge in Basel.

“We are expecting a tough match. For sure, we will give 100 per cent on court tomorrow, fight for every point and enjoy”, Stefani Stoeva said.
