The Danish Mixes Doubles pair of Mathias Bay-Smidt and Rikke Søby is qualified for the semi-finals in Basel, after a two-game match.

The first match on court 1 on the quarterfinal day of the YONEX Swiss Open 2019 was won by European participants.

Mathias Bay-Smidt and Rikke Søby from Denmark were able to win against Arjun M. R. and Maneesha K. from India in straight, but close games (21-19, 21-16). Tomorrow, they are playing in the semi-finals of the BWF World Tour 300 tournament.

Possible Danish semi-final

If Christinna Pedersen and Mathias Christiansen will win their quarterfinal match later against their Chinese opponents, Lu Kai/Chen Lu, Mathias Bay-Smith and Rikke Søby will face their Danish compatriots tomorrow in the semi-finals.

If Pedersen/Christiansen will lose their match today, it will be the last time that the currently world ranked number 15 Danish Mixed Double pair has played together, as Pedersen has announced to stop playing for the national team after the YONEX Swiss Open 2019.
