With the All England Open Championships getting underway in less than 24 hours, here is a preview of what is to come at the Super 1000 on the BWF World Tour.
With two European pairs reaching the podium in last year’s edition, there is nothing stopping the continent from producing more of the same or even better for this year.
What to look forward to
The prestigious tournament that starts at 9:00 am (GMT) is being held at the Arena Birmingham in the center of the Midlands city which is the second largest city within the United Kingdom.
There are over 150 players participating in the tournament with many of the top players being from Europe including Viktor Axelsen, Mia Blichfeldt, the Adcocks, the Stoeva Sisters as well as the likes of Kento Momota, Tai Tzu Ying and many more set to challenge!
This year’s All England will be a special finale for the Danish Men’s Doubles pair, Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen after Badminton Denmark revealed that it would be the pair’s last tournament together.
The Danes reached the final of the tournament last year and face opponents from Korea in the first round, Seo Seung Jae/Choi Solgyu who are ranked number 42 in the world, twenty below the Danes.
