With just three days until the start of the All England, let's take a flashback to last years All England winner Christinna Pedersen and how she felt winning the prestigious tournament.

Christinna Pedersen is one of the best Doubles players in the world. The Dane spoke about winning the All England in 2018.

Pedersen will be at the All England for the 2019 edition but she will be fighting for the Mixed Doubles with Mathias Christiansen.

The feeling of winning All England

2018 is in the books. For the Danish Doubles player, Christinna Pedersen, it has been a good year, especially on court. Together with her Danish partners on court, Kamilla Rytter Juhl.

Pedersen has shown that she is still one of the best players in the world.

In 2008, Pedersen made her debut at senior level. Ten years later, the Dane was able to win one of the world’s most prestigious badminton tournaments: The All England.

- To win the All England together with Kamilla is, of course, the biggest moment and triumph for me in 2018. It still gives me goose bombs, when I talk about it or see some video clips from the tournament, Christinna Pedersen said, speaking after last year’s All England.

The coach is special

Pedersen also gave a lot of credit to the coach of Denmark Kenneth Jonassen, who is extremely special to both Pedersen and her partner Rytter Juhl.

Without our coach Kenneth, we would not be here now. Even in the intervals of the sets, he was so special for us, helping us and guiding us to take the next point, Pedersen said.

When we are wearing our badminton dresses he means everything to us. When we are down and we are soft he knows exactly what to do to get us back positive.

Without his help during this tournament, I am sure we would not have won. A lot of credit to him, he knows what to do in this situation at a final in the All England, she added.

Mixed Doubles for Pedersen

Christinna Pedersen will grace the courts at Arena Birmingham again this year, but focusing solely on the Mixed Doubles after her partner Rytter Juhl is still off court due to the arrival of their daughter, Molly.

Mathias Christiansen/Christinna Pedersen has a tough first match in Birmingham as they are preparing to play the Japanese deadly duo Yuta Watanabe/Arisa Higashino who is the number three pair in the world.
