On Saturday, Germany beat Russia 3-1 in the semi-final of the 2019 European Mixed Team Championships in Copenhagen.

0-5 – that was the latest result for Germany against Russia in the group stage of this year’s European Mixed Team Championships.

Both teams have been drawn into the semi-final against each other again. But this time, Germany was seeking for revenge.

After winning the Mixed Doubles, Germany’s Kai Schaefer had to accept a close defeat in Men’s Singles against Vladimir Malkov.

Then, the pressure has been on Yvonne Li. After laying back in the first game, she managed to come back and win her match against Eygeniva Kosetskava.

Deciding match for Mark Lamsfuss/Marvin Seidel again

The following Men’s Double between Mark Lamsfuss/Marvin Seidel and Ivan Sozonov/Vladimir Ivanov was the first matchpoint game for Germany. Such as on Friday, the German pair succeeded and reached the next round of the tournament.

It is an amazing feeling to reach the final. We are so happy to beat Russia today and England yesterday, Mark Lamsfuss after the match.

We believed in ourselves. When we play our best, we can beat everybody, Marvin Seidel added.
