European Championships in Copenhagen with Danish super stars

With around two weeks to go until the start of the European Mixed Team Championships, Badminton Denmark has announced the provisional eighteen player squad to defend the title in Copenhagen.

Denmark will be up against France, Spain and the Netherlands in the group stage, consisting of the Men’s Singles players, Viktor Axelsen, Anders Antonsen and Rasmus Gemke, along with other big names.

Also set to join the team is Christinna Pedersen fresh from becoming a parent, as well as the likes of Mia Blichfeldt, Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen.

Viktor Axelsen, Anders Antonsen, Rasmus Gemke, Mia Blichfeldt, Line Kjærsfeldt, Julie Dawall, Anders Skaarup Rasmussen, Kim Astrup, Mads Kolding, Frederik Søgaard, David Daugaard, Mathias Christiansen, Niclas Nøhr, Sara Thygesen, Maiken Fruergaard, Rikke Søby, Alexandra Bøje, Christinna Pedersen.

The Danish matches at the European Mixed Team Championships are played as follows:

Wednesday, 13 February at 18:00     DENMARK-France
Thursday, 14 February at 18:00         DENMARK-Netherlands
Friday, 15 February at 18.00              DENMARK-Spain

Saturday, 16 February at 14:00 Semi-final of DENMARK (if qualified)
Sunday, 17 February at 14:00 Final of DENMARK (if qualified)

“We are extremely pleased that the conflict between Badminton Denmark and their players has been resolved in time to nominate their best players for the European Mixed Team Championships”, Badminton Europe General Secretary Brian Agerbak said.

“It is not very often that the Danish badminton audience gets the chance to see such a big event in Copenhagen and I hope that they will take this opportunity to come and support the Danish players in their attempt to become European Champions”, he added.
