The players from Russia were dominating the finals of the 2014 Yonex Estonian International in Tallinn while young Danish player Rasmus Fladberg won the men's singles category.

The Olympic bronze medal winner Nina Vislova took the victory in both the women’s and mixed doubles event at the Badminton Europe Circuit (5.000 US Dollars). In the mixed doubles, sixth-ranked Anatoliy Yartsev/Evgeniya Kosetskaya were forced to yield to the superiority of their fellow countrymen - first-ranked Vitalij Durkin/Nina Vislova 22-24, 21-14, 16-21.  In the women’s doubles, Nina Vislova and Anastasia Chervaykova overpowered Netherland’s Myke Halkemat/Gayle Mahulette 21-9, 21-12.

„Today’s match was really most demanding. In the first game we applied pressure to our opponents and fought for each and every point. Second game had us somewhat disorganised and our opponents quickly took advantage of that. In the third game we were able to step up the pace remarkably, we made fewer mistakes and hence we gained a win”, Vislova related after winning the mixed doubles finals.

Solid Rasmus Fladberg takes men's singles title

In the men’s singles final a fierce showdown played out between Ukraine’s Valeriy Atrashchenkov and Denmark’s Rasmus Fladberg. The Men’s singles winner turned out to be Fladberg, defeating Atrashchenkov 21-14; 21-14. Fladberg, presenting a solid “A” game performance throughout the tournament, managed to overthrow home crowd favourite number third seed Raul Must in the quarter finals.

In men’s doubles the winners were highest ranked Nikita Khakimov/Vasiliy Kuznetsov, who downed France’s Laurent Constantin/Matthieu Lo Ying Ping 14-21, 21-13, 21-19. Russia took the prize in the women’s singles category as well as Evgeniya Kosetskaya won against Ukraine’s Marija Ulitina 21-16, 23-21.
