2019 season has officially begun!

The city of Lund will host players from Europe and all around the world for its annual tournament starting on Thursday 17 January 2019.

This international Series offers the same prize money as last year but yet the tournament is without doubts growing.

Some players are looking to put in better performances, and others will be aiming to keep the title.

Speaking of the Women’s Double title holders from Sweden, Emma Karlsson/Johanna Magnusson are returning as top seed this year.

The pair can take this opportunity to play in front of a home crowd and play some excellent badminton on home soil.

Molhede could be one to watch

In the Men’s Doubles, the Danish player Lasse Molhede is also returning this year! The defending champion won the title when he used to play with the New Zealander Oliver Leydon-Davis.

Their association stopped not long after the tournament. He’s now playing with Mathias Bay-Smidt also from Denmark.

The boys had quite a good 2018 season. Let’s see what they will do in Sweden next week!

Lasse Molhede will also play in Mixed Doubles with his partner Sara Lundgaard. They are willing to do make better results than last year: They lost in quarterfinals against an Indian pair.

After the Thailand Masters where Lin Dan was beaten by a 125 ranked player, anything could happen.
