Going in the right direction

Marvin Seidel believes that there is still an improvement for the Mixed Doubles pair to make, but also states that they are going in the right direction.

The pair is currently ranked 21st in the World Rankings and will be looking to improve even further for 2019, Marvin Seidel said in the BEC Podcast.

- I think we are doing a few things right, not everything because then, we would be even more successful.

- It is nice that we have this rivalry between Mark (Lamsfuss) and Isabel (Herrtrich) and us two, because it helps us to make the next step, Seidel said.

- Because if I do not improve, maybe others will and besides, it helps to get a better player, he added.

Going for the medals

Seidel spoke with confidence about aiming to be the first pair to take a medal from the Olympics or the World Championships.

No player in the history books of German badminton has managed this achievement and it is between Seidel/Efler and Lamsfuss/Herttrich to take this record.

- Everybody knows that it is difficult and it will always be difficult, but we have not tried yet. But if you do not try, you will not know, if you can do it or not. So, we have to try., Seidel said.

- It is our main focus. But even if we do not succeed, then at least, we know that we have given our best. But I definitely think that we can do it because we are much younger than the other generations who tried and we are a lot better than they were, he added.

- I believe that we can bring a medal home from the Olympics/World Championships in the future.

- I hope that I can do that too, Linda Efler said.
