Scotland’s Adam Hall has revealed to Badminton Europe that he was relieved to get injured which has given him time to reset himself ahead of a busy 2019.

The 22-year old sustained a fluke injury with left him with damaged ligaments after an incident in training, days before he was due to travel to Moldova for the European Mixed Team Championships.

Hall, who plays both Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles will have a potentially very busy year ahead of him with both the European Games and the Olympic qualifying year for Tokyo 2020.

Positives to take out of it

Hall, speaking to Badminton Europe did reveal that the injury perhaps could not have come at a better time ahead of 2019.

The 22-year-old has not had a full week off since May after the European Championships and this might just have been too far for Hall.

- To be honest the injury maybe came at the right time.

- I have not been in the best place mentally for a couple of weeks now so I was almost relieved that I was going to get a bit of time off court.

- It has given me a different perspective and the chance to try and get back mentally and ready to go again at the start of 2019, in the best way that I can, he said.

Not the best news at first

Hall told Badminton Europe that initially he was disappointed to be injured as it was a chance for him to represent his country and gain valuable points for the World Ranking.

- When the injury happened, it was a bit rubbish because I was due to go to Moldova with the team for the EMTC.

- Not being able to go to Moldova was a good chance to get points for the World Ranking which I have now missed out on, Hall added.
