Germany and Sweden won straight

On Friday, the first matches of Group 5 of the EMTC Qualification got underway in Erlangen, Germany. Germany and Sweden both won their matches with 5-0. 


Germany won dominantly against Slovenia, with five wins in five matches. Doubles player, Johanna Goliszewski was playing two of those: The Mixed, as well as Women’s Singles match. 


- It is a pleasure to play at home, the crowd is amazing here, she said. 


New pairing 


Next to playing with her partner, Lara Käpplein, Goliszewski was playing with a new partner in Mixed Doubles: Jan Colin Völker.

- It is a special pair, we will probably just play together for this tournament, the German revealed to Badminton Europe.
 




Straight win for Sweden


Such as the favourite and host, Germany, Sweden won also 5-0 against the team of Austria. Richard Eidestedt won his matches in Men’s and Mixed Doubles, as well as the World Junior Champions from 2017, Emma Karlsson and Johanna Magnusson.
