Spain one step closer to reach the final

On Friday, Spain won 5-0 against Lithuania in Group 6. Luis Enrique Peñalver achieved the first win for Spain.   

- It is an honour to be here, representing my country. We will try our best to qualify for the next round, Luis Enrique Peñalver revealed to Badminton Europe.

- I think we have a real option to qualify, but we have a really tough match against Poland. So, we will see, he added.

Povilas Bartušis and Mark Sames, representing Lithuania, had tough matches in Men’s Doubles and Singles respectively:

- It was tough, they are professional players, but we tried to do our best, Bartušis said. 

 

Poland wins 3-2 on home soil

A tough first match got underway for Czech Republic against Poland.

Tereza Švábíková won the match against her Polish opponent, followed by a real intense Men’s Singles match, which the Polish player, Michal Rogalski, won after three close games (17-12, 21-18, 21-18).
