Norway beats Latvia 4-1 in Subgroup 2.

Only COE-player Niks Podosinoviks from Latvia could win his match against Peter Roenn Stensaeth from Norway, keeping the zero off the scoreboard for his country.

- I felt quite confident in my men’s singles. I was very calm and relaxed, everything worked well and I was satisfied with the result I made. And I got one point for Latvia, my team, the men's singles says.

In Subgroup 1 Ireland beats seeded host country Bulgaria with 3-2.

Coach Daniel Magee already stated before starting their first tie that their goal is to win their qualification group:

- I think we got a really good chance at getting to the final stage of the European Mixed Team Championships in Copenhagen. I think it is going to be very competitive, but I’m confident that if we play well that we can get through this.
