Last week, Tennis Point Vienna hosted another successful para-badminton event organised by Badminton Europe, the Austrian Badminton Association and the European Paralympic Committee.

The week consisted of two courses in Austria with participants from across the continent taking part in either a coaching course for para-badminton or an administrative course.

‘small’ badminton nations can do it!

This year’s para-badminton course has proven that it is possible to grow a sport in a country where badminton is not a nationally played sport.

- It is a great opportunity to get and share knowledge from the other participants and it is a good chance to start para-badminton in Slovenia, Matevz Srekl told Badminton Europe.

- Anything can happen and if you try and attend an event then it can give you the knowledge to do something in your country, he said.

Badminton Europe Vice President João Matos said:

- I am very happy with the turnout of this event. Everybody has intervened quite a lot and have really given us a lot of thought and got a lot of information from us as usual.

- The two activities that we had were very important especially for the newcomers and the administrators from our members who need advice on how to grow para badminton in their countries.
