Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus (Denmark) has moved two spots up on the men’s singles world ranking list, published on Thursday. The Dane played his last tournament of 2018 in Hong Kong this week, losing to Lee Cheuk Yiu in the second round.
The former world no. 8 shared his thoughts about his current ranking and the goals in the future:
- To be honest, it feels very disappointing to be ranked no. 28. But I haven’t been able to perform two days in a row since back in January, so it’s a logical consequence that my ranking has dropped to this level.
-The target for me the coming year is just to play better, more consistent and enjoy the game more. I haven’t set a goal for my ranking, but obviously where I am now, it’s important to stay in top 32, to ensure I’m qualified to play the World Tour 750 and 1000 events.
Changes in singles
Anders Antonsen (Denmark) has moved three spots up to occupy position no. 16, four spots behind his best result. Mark Caljouw (Netherlands) is standing on position no. 33 after climbing two spots up. England’s Rajiv Ouseph is following him on position no. 35, one spot higher compared to last week.
Lucas Corvee, Toby Penty and Misha Zilberman have moved one spot up, standing on positions no. 40, 43 and 44 respectively.
The women’s singles world ranking list has Mia Blichfeldt (Denmark) on position no. 17, two spots behind her career-best result. Beatriz Corrales (Spain) has moved one spot up to stand on position no. 33. Bulgaria’s Linda Zetchiri has climbed one spot up, occupying position no. 46.
Changes in doubles
Kim Astrup/ Anders Skaarup Rasmussen (Denmark) have moved one spot up on the men’s doubles world ranking list to occupy position no. 7.
There are more changes on the mixed doubles world ranking list, as Denmark’s Niclas Nohr/Sara Thygesen have entered into the top 20. Marvin Emil Sidel/Linda Efler (Germany) are following them on position no. 21.
Dutch pair Jacco Arends/Selena Piek are standing on position no. 23 after moving one spot up.
