Chris Langridge and Marcus Ellis won the final at the SaarLorLux Open against Aaron Chia and Wook Yik Soh from Malaysia.

Langridge and Ellis were off to a good start leading 12-6 but the bronze medallists from the Rio Olympics did not take advantage of the four game point they had, and the Malaysian won the first game 23-21.

- Maybe we were a bit too relaxed. They played well, and I think I erased these four points from my memory already, Chris Langridge said after the match.

Third 2018 title for Langridge and Ellis

The English won the second game 21-18 and after a thrilling third game Langridge and Ellis, who in 2018 have won the Commonwealth Games and the Canada Open, could celebrate the third victory of the year winning 21-19 in the decider.

- It feels great. We have been up and down this week, and maybe the experience that we have made a difference. I think the play very well despite their age, so I am happy that it is now us standing here as the winner, Marcus Ellis said.

It is the first time Marcus Ellis and Chris Langridge win the SaarLorLux Open.
