Chris Langridge and Marcus Ellis won the final at the SaarLorLux Open against Aaron Chia and Wook Yik Soh from Malaysia.
On paper the first final of the day, the men’s doubles final was a 50/50 match up. The English are ranked 23 in the World, while the Malaysian are the current number 24.

Langridge and Ellis were off to a good start leading 12-6 but the bronze medallists from the Rio Olympics did not take advantage of the four game point they had, and the Malaysian won the first game 23-21.
Third 2018 title for Langridge and Ellis
The English won the second game 21-18 and after a thrilling third game Langridge and Ellis, who in 2018 have won the Commonwealth Games and the Canada Open, could celebrate the third victory of the year winning 21-19 in the decider.
- It feels great. We have been up and down this week, and maybe the experience that we have made a difference. I think the play very well despite their age, so I am happy that it is now us standing here as the winner, Marcus Ellis said.
It is the first time Marcus Ellis and Chris Langridge win the SaarLorLux Open.
