French Open runner-ups Stefani Stoeva/Gabriela Stoeva are the top European pair on the women’s doubles world ranking list after moving two positions up and becoming world no. 9.

Gabriela shared her thoughts with Badminton Europe after their win against a Japanese pair in the second round at SaarLorLux Open. 

-Now the expectations are higher, everybody will expect us to do our best on court. We will do better, we will work hard, try our best and just enjoy the game. Our dream is to see ourselves in the highest rank in the world. 

-We are happy to be back in top 10 but we want more and for sure we will fight for it, - Stefani added.

Changes in men’s singles

Rasmus Gemke (Denmark) has climbed six spots up to occupy position no. 16 on the men’s singles world ranking list. Jan O Jorgensen (Denmark) occupies position no. 27 after moving two spots up. 

England’s Rajiv Ouseph has moved one spot up to occupy position no. 37. France’s Lucas Corvee and England’s Toby Penty have both moved one spot up, standing on positions no. 42 and 43 respectively. 

Misha Zilberman (Israel) is following them on position no. 45. Pablo Abian (Spain) has moved two spots up to stand on position no. 49. 


Doubles climb high

Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen (Denmark) have climbed one spot up to enter the top 5 of the men’s doubles world ranking list. Their compatriots Mads Conrad-Petersen/Mads Pieler Kolding are following them on position no. 6. Russia’s Vladimir Ivanov/Ivan Sozonov have moved two spots up to stand on position no. 19. 

Maiken Fruergaard/Sara Thygesen are no. 14 after moving two spots up in the women’s doubles world ranking list. 

Marvin Emil Seidel/Linda Efler (Germany) have moved two spots up to occupy position no. 21 on the mixed doubles world ranking list.
