The French player, Toma Junior Popov, reached the semi-finals at the SaarLorLux Open after winning against his Indian opponent, Parupalli Kashyap, in two games on Friday.

Thereby, Popov won with 21-16 and 21-18 against Parupalli, who was the seeded number eight in Saarbrucken. In total, the match lasted 38 minutes.

 - I am very happy about my performance, even though I made easy mistakes in the first set. The second set was very close, he pressured me a bit, Popov said after the match. 

- I was a bit nervous during the second match, but overall, I had a strong psyche and mentality today. 

Winning is the goal 

Tomorrow, Popov plays in the semi-finals in Saarbrucken, his opponent is the English Men’s Singles player, Rajiv Ouseph. Popov is ambitious, regarding his participation in the German tournament:

- I want to win, this is my goal here. But we will see on Sunday, if I am in the final or not, he said.
