On Thursday, Sara Thygesen and Maiken Fruergaard reached the quarterfinals in Paris, whereas Joachim Fischer Nielsen/Alexandra Bøje are out of the tournament.

Two times 21-19, that is the result for Sara Thygesen/Maiken Fruergaard on Day 3 of the YONEX French Open. The Danish Women’s Double won against Shiho Tanaka/Koharu Yonemoto from Japan, who are currently world-ranked number six.

- We knew that we had to play very good today, and that we have to do that for one or one and a half hours in total. We are very happy with our performance, Sara Thygesen said after the match.

- Our strategy was to be patient and to take some fights sometimes, Maiken Fruergaard added.
