‘Moments of class’ is how the Men’s Doubles contest could be described as, with Marcus Gideon/Kevin Sukamuljo beating their Japanese opponents Takeshi Kamura/Keigo Sonoda in straight games.

The two pairs had met nine times in their career, prior to this match and they treated the spectators in Denmark to another thriller this afternoon.

The first game was reasonably close throughout but the Indonesian pair had enough in their performance on court to win 21-15, despite being challenged by their opponents.

The second game was even closer, point to point for the duration, but it was the duo from Indonesia who took the game 21-16.

The court was a good fit

Marcus Gideon believes that the court suited him and Sukamuljo more than their opponents today and felt that they were able to control the match.

He also made it no secret that he wants to continue winning in every tournament that he plays in with his doubles partner.

- It was tough a tough match as it always is against them. I think we played a little bit better than them today, with not much mistakes and more steady.

- It is still a lot for us. I want to play in every tournament and I want to become also champion.

Not at their best

The Japanese pair were not satisfied with their performance and believed that they could have given the pair from Indonesia a better contest.

-We, of course, wanted to win the final but it was easy mistakes which cost us the match against Gideon and Sukamujo.

- We were not at our best today and their playing style was much more stronger and better than ours on court.
