With the DANISA Denmark Open getting underway tomorrow, there is so much excitement building around the 750-series tournament in Odense.

With over 50 players competing from Europe, there is sure to be a lot of excitement on the road to the finals on Sunday. With no qualification round, the elimination process starts immediately with the best players competing on court from day one.

Who can stop Srikanth Kidambi?

Last year’s winner of the Men’s Singles is Srikanth Kidambi who will be looking to retain his title this time around. The challenge which lies ahead for the number seven seed could be a lot more tricky than people think.

Should the Indian beat Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus from Denmark in the round of 32, he could possibly face Lin Dan in the round of sixteen. The world's number three is a tough player to compete against, having beaten Kidambi in three of the last four meetings between them.

What are the top matches?

When the tournament gets underway on Tuesday, there are some very interesting matches, involving European players.

Lauren Smith/Marcus Ellis who won the YONEX Dutch Open for their category will fight it out against the number two seeds, Whang Yilyu/Huang Dongping.

Meanwhile, another match to note with the European flag being represented is the new YONEX Dutch Open Champion, Mia Blichfledt, putting her wits against ‘Queen’ Carolina Marin, for yet another time.
