The Dutch Open is well underway now, as Ben Lane and Jessica Pugh beat Danish pair Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Alexandra Boje in straight games, with no real hiccups.

This was closely followed by a closely fought contest between Ruben Jille and Imke Van Der Aar from the Netherlands, who gained victory over Matthew Clare/Victoria Willams from England.

Other matches take place over the course of the day with over twenty players fighting for a place in the quarter-finals.

Lane and Pugh are in the quarter-finals!
Lane/Pugh started off well, but they were quickly caught up by the Fischer Nielsen/Boje who managed to equal the score in the first game at 7-7 before Lane/Pugh pulled through and eventually won the first game 21-18.

The second game started off with the Danes taking the first point before their opponents quickly took charge to move ahead in emphatic fashion to win the game 21-9.

The hosts take a close match!
The second doubles contest was the host nation against England. It was the Dutch pair Ruben Jille/Imke Van Der Aar managed to come out on top in two close games against Matthew Clare/Victoria Williams.

The first game went to the wire with the Dutch winning 22-20 before they also managed to take the second game, this time a more satisfying 21-16 victory for the Dutch pair.

It remains to be seen who the pair will play out of the top seeds Marcus Ellis and Lauren Smith from England or Bastien Kersaudy and Anne Tran from France who play later today.
