Tragic accident involving two Austrian and one Malaysian badminton player

On Friday, 28th of September 2018, a car in which the Austrian badminton players Antonia Meinke and Jenny Ertl and the Malaysian player Chee Tean Tan were seated on their way home from the Czech Open, was involved in a heavy traffic accident south of Brno.

In this accident Chee Tean Tan was lethally injured and passed away on site.  The two Austrian badminton players have been severely injured and are under intensive medical care. 

The ASV Pressbaum and the Austrian Badminton Federation express their most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Chee Tean Tan. 

Likewise, we as Badminton Europe also send our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Chee Tean Tan, and our thoughts and concerns are also with Antonia Meinke and Jenny Ertl.
