Toby Penty reaches a new career-best

Last week’s Belgian International winner Toby Penty(England) has climbed eight spots up on the BWF men’s singles world ranking list to occupy position no. 46. He shared his thoughts with Badminton Europe about his career-best result:

-Very happy to get to a new career best and back into the top 50. I feel like I can still go further and would like to make the top 32 next. At the same time proud of how far I have come after a lot of adversity over the last few years.

The next tournament for Penty will be Dutch Open, to be held in Almere from 9-14 October.

-I’m happy I have a bit more time at home to train and recover from a busy last month.

Changes in singles

Rasmus Gemke (Denmark) has climbed five spots up on the men’s singles world ranking list, currently standing on position no. 18.

Brice Leverdez (France) and Mark Caljouw (Netherlands) have both moved with one spot, occupying positions no. 21 and no. 31 respectively. Misha Zilberman (Israel) has moved two spots up to occupy position no. 45.  

The current world champion Carolina Marin (Spain) has climbed one spot up to occupy position no. 5.Evgeniya Kosetskaya (Russia) has moved two spots up to occupy position no. 34.

Changes in doubles

Jelle Maas/ Robin Tabeling (Netherlands) have moved six spots up on the men’s doubles world ranking list to occupy position no. 28. Jacco Arends/Ruben Jille (Netherlands) have climbed four spots up, standing on position no. 38.

Delphine Delrue/Lea Palermo (France) are standing on position no. 33 on the women’s doubles world ranking list after moving four spots up.

Jacco Arends/Selena Piek (Netherlands) have moved one spot up to occupy position no. 19 on the mixed doubles world ranking list. Russia’s Evgenij Dremin/Evgenia Dimova are following them on position no. 20 after moving two spots up.
