German’s Lukas Resch emerged from quarter finals day as the big winner claiming a minimum of bronze medal in both mixed doubles and men’s singles after a late dramatic win over Georgii Karpov of Russia.

Resch partnered Emma Moszcznski to a predicated quarter final win in one of the early mixed doubles matches. The Germans beat European U17 champions Hope Warner and Rory Easton comfortably in two sets.

The drama came in the men’s singles where the tall 8th seeded German beat one of the men’s singles favourites Georgii Karpov to secure his third medal of the European Juniors in Tallinn.

Resch did it the hard way after losing the opening set to compound a day of misery for Russia who will depart Estonia without a single individual medal, something that would have almost been unimaginable just 7 days ago.

- Its is crazy, just crazy said Resch. I came to this tournament with dreams of a medal and I have already secured a team bronze and now a minimum of two more bronze. 3 medals are unbelievable.

In the women’s singles Hungary have secured two medals while the unseeded Dane Amalie Schulz ended French interested claiming her bronze in what’s been a tough tournament for Europe’s power house nation.

Dutch pair Van Der Aar and Tirtosentono pulled off a remarkable bronze medal for the Netherlands in mixed doubles. The Dutch came through a pair of marathon matches today and took the bronze with a 22-20 win in the deciding set over French pair Briot & Bauer.

- This is a dream come through for us. Its my last junior so to finish it off with a medal is a nice way to go out. It is not over yet as we believe we are playing well and have the confidence to go to the final.

Mads Vestergaard rounded off the days action mirroring Lukas Reschs’ performance adding a minimum of a bronze medal in men’s doubles to the mixed medal he guaranteed earlier in the afternoon.
