Toby Penty was off to a solid start in Belgium.

Toby Penty won his first match at Belgian International 2018 against Kiran George from India. The Englishmen won 21-14 21-9.

- The start was a little slow. The shuttles were a bit slow and it took me a while to adapt, but after that I found the rhythm and he maybe got a bit frustrated, Toby Penty says.


Semi-final is the goal
The English men’s single has been struggling with injuries in 2018 but it does not mean that the ambitions are gone.


- I hope to be as competitive as possible in every match. I missed a lot of tournaments and training due to injuries, so I just want to do good here, Penty says.

- It would make me satisfied to reach my seeding which is the semi-finals, but I know each round of these tournaments are hard. Most players know each other well, but I would like to go far in this tournament.
