Rasmus Gemke (Denmark) has climbed six spots up on the BWF men’s singles world ranking list, reaching his career-best result of no. 23.

Winner of Barcelona Spain Masters 2018 - Gemke is currently playing Japan Open, where he will face Thailand’s Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk tomorrow. His next destination will be China Open, his opponent – India’s Kidambi Srikanth.

-I will face some great players at both tournaments, so it is going to be interesting to see if I can keep up with those guys, Gemke tells Badminton Europe.

Talking about his current ranking position, Gemke mentions,

-No. 23 is the highest ranking for me, which makes it hard not to smile just a little. Meanwhile, it’s not like I have a certain ranking number as a goal except that I want to be in the top 32 to play against the best at the biggest tournaments.
