-I feel so excited. Actually, I believed I could win this medal, but in this moment, I can’t believe in anything. I have so much emotion inside that I cannot describe myself. It is something really special, and I have been preparing for it for a long time.
-I have to say thank-you to many people. Mainly my team, who believe in me every day.
Marin, who is also reigning Olympic Champion, now has three world Women’s Singles titles under her belt. An achievement not matched by any other women. She was asked about what this piece of history that was made today means to her?
-I feel really happy that today I could play well. I could finish the game the way Carolina Marin wants to play. It’s been a really good week here in China. I love China. I love all my Chinese fans. ‘Xie Xie’ (thank you) to everyone.
