The BEC Centre of Excellence hosted a joint practice with the Danish U17-U19 national team.

One of the players attending the joint practice was the European U17 Women’s Singles Champion Sophia Grundtvig, who played Kate Foo Kune, who will attend the World Championships in Nanjing next week.

- I think it was cool to play against the players from Centre of Excellence. They are all talented players and they put a lot of pressure on us. It is funny to play against foreign players, because they play in another way than Danes do, Grundtvig says.

- It was cool to play Kate Foo Kune. She has a lot of experience. Playing against a player like her gives me insight in my strong and weak spots. I do not know her, and she does not know me and due to that I am being challenged on the tactical aspects of the game.

Sophia Grundtvig won the match against Kate Foo Kune 22-20 21-19.

Perfect for COE
Head Coach at the BEC Centre of Excellence is happy, that the young Danish talents can play the COE players.

- Matches like these are perfect for us. We have been working on our physical form, and these matches make us aware of where we are lacking, Jeroen van Dijk says.

- The players performed good, and I am very happy to see, that the Danes also had a good approach to the matches.

The Danes and the COE players will play against each other again on Saturday.
